What Happens in the First 5 Hours of Manual Driving Lessons?
In your first 5 hours of driving lessons with your instructor, you will cover these areas:
Controls – Familiarisation with all the controls in the car, including pedals, speedometer, gear stick, mirrors and much more
Moving off – Learn to prepare, observe and move routine
Stopping – Learn mirror-signal-manoeuvre and how to position the car to stop safely.
Clutch Control – How to appropriately us the clutch to control the speed of the car.
Changing gear – Learning how to safely change gear and progress to matching the gears to the speed of the car.
Left Junctions – Progress on to turning left at junctions using mirror-signal-position-speed-look method, both emerging from a minor to a major road and a major to a minor road.
Right junctions – Moving to turning right at junctions, using the same principles learnt in turning left at junctions.
